How to Get Binance API Key – Full Guide

Today, we will walk you through the process of getting and linking your Binance API to the application of your choice.

If you are experiencing trouble with your Binance API Key, this blog is the right place for you.

Binance is currently the leading cryptocurrency exchange as far as trading is concerned. The platform debuted in 2017 and swept the competition in less than two years. Their slick design, quick support team, and high-frequency tweeter/CEO CZ contributed significantly to their market share dominance.

What Is an API Key?

Google defines an API as “a set of functions and procedures that allow creating applications that can help access the data or features of an operating system, application, or other services.”

An API Key can be referred to as a username that is generated to allow data access. In this case, the exchange generates the Binance API, which you then pass on to another application. The application will import your data based on the permissions you grant.

An API Secret, also known as an API Private Key, is simply a password used in conjunction with the API Key.

Why Should I Connect the Apps with My API Keys?

Connecting your Binance API with an app has several advantages. After each trade or investment, your portfolio will begin to update automatically. It will allow you to access the analytics report, check your top gainers and losers, read up on the news about your favorite cryptocurrencies, set exchange-specific alerts, and do a lot more all in one app.
These applications provide a flawless tracking experience that we are certain you will like.

How To Get Binance API Key & Link with Apps?

Read through the following steps and follow them accurately for a successful outcome!

  • Log in to your Binance Account

  • Head towards ‘Account’ and click on ‘API Settings’

  • Type in a name for your key. It could be anything of your choice. However, the best is to use the name of the app you are creating the key for.

  • Now click on ‘Generate Key.’

  • You will see a dialogue box saying that a confirmation email has been sent to your provided address.

  • Check your respective email account. Binance sends in confirmation emails to ensure 100% security. Open the email and click on ‘Confirm Key.’ Remember that you have to complete the confirmation process within 30 seconds of the request, or the link will expire. Binance keeps these strict measures to ensure security.

  • Clicking on the confirmation link would take you back to the Binance app. And you will be able to see both the API key and your generated secret key.

  • Now head to your desired app and click on ‘Settings Option.’

  • Scroll through the menu and find ‘Binance.’

  • Copy and paste both the API key and the secret key in their respective fields

  • Pick the portfolio you wish to import and click on ‘Import Balance Switch.’

Successfully completing these steps will update your working status to ‘Active,’ and you will be able to access and see through your Binance portfolio from within the app.
